Turn Off Quick Search on X1

My 80 year old mother has the X1 box that has the voice remote.  She has a real hard time with seeing the button and isn't adobting to using voice well.

When she enters a channel numbe, she then needs to hit OK which is causing her a lot of issues knowing to do that.

Can that be turned off?  Just enter channel 06 wait a few seconds and it goes to 06?

Thanks,

Brian

Sorry, no there isn’t a way to turn it off. The search and channel selection are integrated as one

I hope they build this into an firmware update.  Shouldn't be a big deal to code.

I doubt it will ever happen, it’s been that way from the time the X1 platform was released

My mom is also 81. I agree that pushing 6 to go to channel 6 would be great. But when you push 6, it opens SEARCH and she has to choose “6 - channel” or “600 pound life”, or any of about half a dozen options and she can’t figure out what to do. Please make things easier for elderly and disabled.
Or, better yet, she has 6 channels she watches and they are all marked as favorites. So there should be a way to just use channel up/down to navigate. But no, the channel up/down is for ALL channels. She can’t figure out the extra steps to use the guide. The larger button remote seems to be the only accommodation you have for elderly. It’s nice, but it would be nice to have the options I had with television 20 years ago.
