One, it could be that yopu have a weak signal coming into your house, and it can't finish/complete the boot cycle. Tha was my problem. All of a sudden it started doing this about 3 weeks ago with some regularity. Tech came out and cleaned/boosted the signal into the house and voila', fixed.
But you should get on the phone with Comcast, and make sure the box has been "provisioned" and reset. after that, then it's probably signal strength coming into your home being the culprit.

is this a DVR xg1 or hub xg2? if it is an xi3/xid/xi5/xi6 the hub (dvr or xg2) may need to be reset and/or verified it is on and working.
