Remote not responding to voice

The remote changes channels etc but doesn’t respond to voice. When voice button is depressed, an “error” tone comes out of the remote

Try resetting your box

when you hold the voice control down waiting for the TV to indicate to speak, does the remote light blue (LED) the entire time? after you speak the command (try "Guide") and then let go of the microphone button, does the TV screen from X1 respond?
