Remote controller not working
We've been having issues for a couple of weeks. We've had a couple of minor issues that I know we've talked about, but I can't remember the exact nature of them at the moment. However, the big issue has been in fast forwarding or rewinding. Out of the blue, when doing one or the other, the remote will not let you pause, stop, or reverse what you are doing. Every time it has happened, I have had to reboot the cable box. I thought it was a fluke at first, but it continued to happen and it was happening more and more frequently. It happened again today. However, this time after I rebooted the cable box, the remote would not work at all. I thought maybe it was the batteries. (BTW, the first time this happened, I replaced the batteries and had no improvement. When I put the old ones back in and checked their charge level, the Xfinity app said that they were still over 50% full.) So, today, I again replaced the batteries...twice. Still, no luck. I thought about resetting the remote, but am unable to do so. I did notice that when I click any (including setup) button, there is no LED light activity. It is not red or green. It is not on at all. I'm guessing, at this point, that the remote needs to be replaced? Or, is there something else that I've missed or should try since rebooting the cable box and replacing the batteries in the remote have not been successful? Thanks for your help.

yes. when pressing volume up (not for the x1 set top box) the LED should be red. for an RF linked remote it blinks green for channel up/down (x1 set top box command). if it blinks both on a set top box button (like channel up/down) the set top box needs to be rebooted.

Yeah. The problem is that there was no light at all on the remote even after replacing the batteries twice. Since there was nothing that could be done at that point, it seemed to me that the remote had just died. I ended up taking it in and had it replaced. Now, with the new remote, everything is working (except for the service being slow at times for no apparent reason, but that's *another* issue).
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
