Remote control

I've been without a working remote for MONTHS now even though I've spoken AT LENGTH with comcast agents and gone through all the checks.  They told me twice that the remote is broken and they will send me a new one.  They never have.  Im at my wits end.  I just want to unplug from the worthless hundreds of dollars I'm paying them for wasting my time and zero service.  Help.
