RDK30306 Error

Hi - main X1 box on my main TV works fine. All the other smaller boxes on TVs throughout the house send back the RDK 30306 error suggesting the cable is not connected tightly - it is.

I've spent over 4 hours this week on the phone with Comcast support and no one has been able to help. I can watch one out of 5 TVs.

Help!

@ComcastChe any suggestions?

is this a new install? do you have a DVR (xg1) and an Xg2 (a companion with 3 tuners to loan out to the smaller boxes)? is this a new install?

Not a new install - the house I purchased had Comcast service already, I had the account switched to me about a week ago. I have a DVR/the X1 box and 4 smaller boxes. The Comcast tech who came out last week to check the connections and give me the boxes said he found an amp, but "turned it off".

I should have said new service (for you). turning off the amp/splitter doesn't sound very good. plug in the DVR (is it xg1? what is the model number?) and connect to a TV. what do you see on the screen?  have you tried connecting the internet gateway's coax to the xg1 set top box to see if the set top box will successfully completely load?

The main box is the X1 box model AX013ANC. The main one works fine, and when connected to my TV, functions normally. It's the other 4 smaller boxes that when connected to a TV in various rooms go through the Welcome screen, only to stop on an error page saying there was a problem and to check the connections (which are fine) -- with the RDK30306 error.

I have this exact same problem with 2 additional TV boxes we just received yesterday! Main TV and box that has been connected for a few weeks works fine. Spent over 2 hours via phone and chat yesterday and was told the outlets may be the problem....sounds like Comcast techs can activate and de-activate your outlets!?!? Now I can't get in touch with an agent and can't get this issue resolved!

I feel your pain. They won't send anyone out because one box is working. I asked if I could pay 20% of my bill because I'm utilizing 20% of the services I'm paying for. Comcast is horrible.

Just spoke to another agent who informed me that Comcast will not send a tech out to activate the outlets because of the Covid-19! My response was "why did they allow me to order the boxes if they knew they would not work!?!?". Supposedly my account will be credited so I am not charged for the boxes until someone can come and activate them! Unbelievable!

Thanks for the input, I suspect I could probably get the outlets activated...however, the outside box looks like a road map inside! There are so many open ports and can't seem to track what line is running from which port...?? We recently moved to this house and have never seen so many cable ports to one house! I was used to 1 cable in and it serviced all of the outlets in the house...someone must have not liked the previous owners as some point to feel the need to run so many cables into the house...??

Track down the amp, I’ll bet the outlets for the boxes you are trying to use are still attached to the amp and your main box isn’t

Unless you get a tech out, you could hook them up one by one until you get a live connection. Use your working cable box as a tester

@sy12
Backtrack your house look at how your outlets are hooked up. Start a new thread so this one doesn’t get confusing.

Thanks - any idea what the amp looks like, and where it would be located? Would it be outside where the initial hookup is running into the house?
