Pairing Mobile Device to TV through X1

So, the X1 "Easy Pair" platform says to pair my mobile device using X1 Photos Mobile - Easy Peazy.  Except as noted somewhere here last summer the app was deactivated March 2019.  So the big bright print on the FAQ for Easy Pair instructs us to use a deactivated app to pair mobile devices.  Right.  So, Comcast...  ?

Is there a solution? Or is Easy Pair just a dead feature itself?  I mean, I know I can cast to my tv using a multitude of other means but it is kind of ...  shady (?)  to offer this big ole feature that is no feature at all. Unless of course, you DO have a secret app by which people can utilize the touted feature? #baitandswitch

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/easy-pair-overview includes this cryptic note:

At this time no mobile apps are leveraging Easy Pair.

Why is there a Help article for a feature which doesn't exist? Dunno . . .

Yup, it’s dead. And no one from “the future of awesome “ is doing anything about it; not removing the “easy pair” useless promise in their apps section nor alerting us customers that it’s defunct. I think they’re just hoping we’ll all quietly ignore it & give up. Yet another “Easy” tech product that is anything but. The app is still installed on my phone, and when trying to connect as “Guest”, it just keeps saying “Something’s not quite right. Give us a few moments and try again...”
And when I go to log in, I get “Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found “. Wonderful, huh?
Then I thought I’d uninstall & reinstall the app as a fix, but in the App Store I get “App not available. This app is not available in your country or region.” Beautiful. Makes you want to run right out & sign up for their X-fi Home security system, doesn’t it, knowing that promised features just fade into oblivion. And with no updates to their support materials either. Or even a notice to us customers somehow.
Xfinity - the future of garbage.
