Need Pronto Hex Code

Several X1 customers have 3rd party remotes because like me, we are trying to control several devices (audio system, DVR Player).  All of the remotes for the X1 are designed for the X1 and maybe the TV.  So many, many of us buy third party "universal" remotes.

Many of us appear to have settled on a Logitech Harmony remote.  There are several models...Harmony, and others.

In my case, and looking at these forums, all of the commands work except "skip forward."  Fast forward works, skip backwards works, not skip forward.

Logitech told me and others that they need the "pronto hex code" to program the skip forward button.  Logitech has been very responsive...they've tried a bunch of things including having the remote "learn" from the codes sent by the Xfinity remote.

Xfinity on the other hand has not been responsive.  They keep telling me I need to contact Logitech (which I have) and that Xfinity doesn't troubleshoot Logitech devices.  Of course, I am not asking them to "troubleshoot" I am just asking for the code.

If anyone reads this and knows how to stimulate Xfinity to let its customers know this code, several of us would be very, very appreciative.

none available. my harmony uses the page up and page down as skip forward 30 seconds and skip back 15 seconds. the 'time period' is actually programmed into the set top box (not the remote) by using the Xfinity remote. to make that change in your x1 set top box, while watching live TV with no menu on the screen and using the xr11/xr15 remote type quickly exit exit exit 0030 - the screen will appear to be typing a channel just press exit on the remote to clear that. then the page up and down will work as you requested as skip forward and skip backwards.

Re: Need Pronto Hex Code

Thanks for the response from the helpful volunteer who is not a Comcast employee.

Your approached seems to make sense.  I tried it using my Comcast remote but I cannot guarantee it is xr11/xr15.  There doesn't seem to be an identification on it.  It is the voice enabled remote so I am guessing it is one of the latest.  Maybe there is a way to query the remote for it to tell you what it is.

In any event, I tried exit exit exit 0030 exit.  I was on a screen that had no menu...just showing some program.

After hitting the first "exit" the screen popped an information message that what I was watching was live.  I proceeded with the other exit exit 0030 exit.  Unfortunately, I still cannot skip forward.  I can skip backwards.  I am making a wild guess that the sequence you gave sets the amount of the skip forward; it may not enable the skip forward.  I believe that for some reason the Logitech Harmony remote is not sending a skip forward command.

I tried several calls/chats with Comcast support.  No joy.  But thanks to you....please let me know if I was doing something wrong.

to test begin watching a recording. when watching live TV there is no 'forward' yet unless you rewind live TV.

Re: Need Pronto Hex Code

Thanks RustyBen

I must have sounded like a dodo.  I did test while watching a recording.  The "live" message I got is when I tried your fix (exit exit 0030 exit during a live program).
