My X1 box is stuck on "Select Your Language"

My X1 box is stuck on "Select Your Language"

My old box quit working, so I swapped it out with a new box from the local Xfinity store.  I came home reconnected the cables and the box has been stuck on "select your language for the past 9 hours.  I've programmed the remote, reprogrammed the remote, reset the box, called customer service who reset the box, and still I'm stuck.  I've chatted with someone in some far off land who can't fix it.  I'm about ready to cut the cord altogether.

 

Does anyone have a solution to this simple problem?

I can't tell if you physically unplugged the X1 box from the rear of the box; that helped me fix my issue.

when you press the remote buttons (up/down arrow for example) does the remote's LED blink green or red or both?

Red. I had a service call today fro a great xfinity employee Greg. He swapped the boxes and remotes and everything works.
