Help pairing remote to soundbar

I recently bought a Sceptre tv. Love the tv, hate the speakers. I purchased a Sceptre sound bar. It sounds great, but I can’t pair it to the Comcast remote, xr11. Sceptre does not show up as a model to choose from. I called Comcast, they said call Sceptre. Sceptre said to call Comcast. My husband refuses to have to use two remotes. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Press and hold setup, LED goes from red to green, press 992 and channel up until the sound bar turns off, if/when it does press and hold setup to lock the code it. Use all power to test.

Not all sound bars are compatible.

If you’ve cycled through all of the possibilities, it’s possible that your sound bar isn’t fully compatible, not all are

The soundbar I have worked with the tip above when I hit 992 and channel up until it turned off, but my xfinity remote still doesn’t control the volume. Any further tips?

I just went through this with my Dad.  Sceptre uses Sony codes.  For my Dad's TV and sound bar, we found 3 -4 different Sony codes for each unit, tried them all until it worked.

Hope this helps.

Many codes enable remote to control vol up/down but none of the codes shuts the soundbar on/off.  The tech who visited said it can take a while for new codes to be found and released.  That stinks.  Also, although my TV is only one year old and has ARC, I was not able to hook it up using ARC.  Trying resulted in no sound at all and, yes, I changed all of the TV settings to enable ARC.  The ARC set up is not simply plug in an HDMI.  It was tedious trial and error and in the end I could not use it.  Now using just the optical.  Sound is fine but I understand ARC might have been better.

I have a Yamaha soundbar as well but the process didn’t work for me. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

I hit setup until it blinks green. Hit 992. Hit channel up until it turned off. Hit setup until it blinked green. Hit all on. Doesn’t turn back on?

I guess it’s possible that it’s not compatible but I figure if one Yamaha soundbar works, shouldn’t they all?

Unfortunately not all sound bars are compatible, if you tried every code and the manual way, you just may be out of luck
