HBO Max Streaming & data cap

I'm seeing instructions for logging onto HBO Max via a web browser. I'm seeing Comcast agents touting the service is included at no extra charge to X1 HBO subscribers. Since there is still no HBO Max app available on the X1 boxes my question is: Does streaming HBO Max on either a phone/tablet/computer or smart TV count toward the data cap on the Comcast internet service? If it is eating up the data on our internet then it can't be said to be included at no cost. When there is an app available on the X1 boxes will the data used by the app apply toward the amount of capped data on Comcast internet service accounts?

Included means no subscription cost, fine print=data rates apply. Any internet apps (HBO Max will be one) count

Thank you. Looks like I'll just be sticking with standard HBO then. That's too bad. Does streaming "On Demand" shows and movies use internet data too or are those part of the TV service so they don't impact data usage?

linear numbered channels and regular on-demand through the X1 menu (not including TVgo channels nor TVgo on-demand) is from Comcast internal servers and do not count toward your CAP (if a CAP applies).

Is HBO Max included in triple play service as advertised on Xfinity commercial. If not how much is it and how do you subscribe? Can it be month to month? Comcast/Xfty has made deceitful claims for decades. Their automate service is horrible, no answers and always a waste of the customers time. Please email any suggestions. Thank you.  begb@comcast.net

@ufilmsonline Hey there! Great questions. HBO Max can be included but it really varies based on the specific plan. We can look more into that for you. Please send us private message by selecting the chat icon in the top right-hand corner. Then search for Xfinity Support. We'll be there to help.

I absolutely agree that the Comcast/Xfinity automated customer service is a complete waste of time. I just spent over 10 minutes listening to all of the possible Comcast connections but was never offered a chance to actually speak to somebody. It might be the time to explore what Phios offers me!

So basically there is no way to control the playback quality over wifi which uses data. Is there a setting in my xfinity internet that would allow me to set a max video quality. Basically I've NEVER gone over and all the sudden this month my data usage is 1/3 higher than it has ever ever ever been. It seems like magic that my data usage went up so high. Is there a setting in my wifi thorugh comacst where I can select my max video playback to standard and not HD to save data?
