Getting pop up message when watching shows

Frequently when I’m watching a recorded show and I go to pause or fast forward, a black box with a message saying my internet connection is bad and to make sure all cables are secure and tight? Everything is secure so I don’t know why this happens? After a few tries it will start working again and the message goes away but this happens frequently. I unplug the cable box and let everything reboot and it seems to fix the problem but only temporarily? All my other devices work fine. Does this happen to anyone else , any suggestions?
