Gateway Bridge Mode not available for "IP Only" Accounts?
I recently invested in my own modem / gateway / switch to manage my home network and security cameras. Once I got everything installed, I reconfigured my Xfinity gateway into bridge mode and instantly lost access to cable TV on all my boxes.
After doing some research here on the forums, I realized that bridge mode disabled MoCA on the gateway so my existing boxes would not work. Per suggestions on previous posts in this forum, I then went to the Xfinity store today to request an XG2 box (which is how my system was set up prior to this "upgrade" I recently got) only to be told that I have an "IP only" account and that there is no way for me to get internet service and cable TV using my own equipment. I was told that an IP only account is my only option for service in my area now. Is that true? What are my options?
