Yes, that's the way the X1 system works. You can schedule recordings on any of them, watch from any of them, and if you stop watching it remembers the unwatched position so you can restart ther from any of them.
I was unsure of what the service was capable of when I was going through the ordering process online. I added 3 additional TV's, but the additional boxes were just listed as TV Boxes, while the default is listed as a DVR. As long as I can do everything on all 4 TV's, then I'm good!
Ok, would I need to call for that then? The ordering process online is pretty vague and doesn't say what type of box I'm getting. It just lists one X1 DVR as the default and TV Boxes for any additional boxes that are added.
You may or may not get a physical DVR box installed these days. You get 'cloud dvr' service anyway where a more limited number of recording are stored and look/work the same as on a local device with a DVR and are retained even if you swap your own DVR device. If a DVR is not included you should be able to pick up an XG1V4 (the newest 4k version) at an xfinity store and have 30 days to return one of the others - or they should ship you one if you are not near a local office. The boxes all find the local DVR automatically. Plus, you can use apps on phones/tablets or a browser to play on other devices, but I think these are limited to the set of recordings in the cloud.
