Daily update freezes screen

Daily update freezes screen

I receive the Daily Update message and select Update Now. The update goes through the process (usually 4-5 minutes) and returns me to the channel I was watching.  However after 2-3 minutes my screen freezes and my remote is locked.  Then after 4-5 minutes it unfreezes and is normal until next update. Happens after every update.

is that a DVR with a clock or a companion set top box? it sounds like a storage memory problem.
