Can’t get past language screen

I just picked up a new 4K box and brought it home. Plugged it in and can’t get it past the language selection screen. I’ve tried holding a and D and pressing 981, doesn’t work, as well I can’t sync it together because I need to select language first. Been in support for 3 hours, no help. Any ideas until I go back to xfinity store for another, new one....

Can you try pointing the remote directly at the box and make sure you are within 10 feet? See if that helps.

Somehow I got past the language screen, but now it’s asking me to verify my phone number, but I still can’t sync the remote....
