Can I Dvr with xg2v2 box?

I have an XG2v2 box as my main box with an Xid and an Xi3 in other rooms. I changed my package to include DVR.  I scheduled a recording and was successful yet none of my boxes are considered a DVR box. Can someone explain how I was able to record with all non DVR boxes.

It’s all rate codes but until you upgrade one of your boxes to a dvr, you’re making cloud recordings.

Don’t all recordings end up in the cloud anyway? I guess as long as I don’t run out of space, it doesn’t matter.

when you have set top boxes active in your home but no DVR the maximum cloud space is 60 hours. change one of your boxes to a DVR and your home storage increases quite a bit while cloud continues to have last 60 hours.

I hate "autocorrect"!  I meant ....why does mine say 20 hours?

I just upgraded to an X1 and XFi.  I asked the representative that I wanted to be able to dvr shows since I was cancelling my DIRECTV.  Had to self install.  Was given all equipment to include a "mini" for my bedroom.  Imagine my surprise when I set a 2hr movie to record and showed that my recording storage was "10% full".  That means I can only record and store at max 20 hours?

I realized when I did a status check that I was given a XG2V2 box and it is not a dvr!  Short of exchanging the box how can I get more storage?  I read the replies that people without a dvr have 60 hours being changed to 150 hours available.  Why does Ming nay show 20?  Thanks

if you have a DVR in the home the limit is around 150 hours, without a DVR in the home the plans differ. you can contact your local Xfinity store or call 800-Comcast and customer service to discuss plans with more hours (cloud DVR).
