2 X1 boxes experiencing pixelation

Hi all,

 

I've had Comcast for a really long time. For the most part, the experience has been pretty good. I just began having picture issues on multiple channels, so I decided to make sure there were no outages. I have tried resetting my box and performing a system refresh. Last time there were pixel issues, it affected my internet and turned out to be a signal issue. I know that is probably the issue here, but maybe someone can help me out to determine what might be going on and if it is outside. Obviously, now is not a great time for a tech visit given the pandemic going on right now. Thanks.

If it was signal issues before, chances are really good it’s the same now.

I'm sorry for not providing more information about the previous signal issue. Turned out to be a damaged wire and I believe it was replaced. There was also a house amp used by a tech at the time to boost signal levels that was no longer needed since the wire had been discovered. The signal levels reaching the modem were too hot on the downstream with that amp causing disconnects and other issues in the log. Comcast installed that amp at the time. Anyway, it DOES seem fine as of this writing.

As of tonight, I am still having issues, but not as bad. Some channels are completely fine. Uncorrectable errors are showing up in the modem as well as In Band Status which I am sure is expected with this.

UPDATE: Ended up calling Xfinity. The lady on the phone ran a health check. During the pandemic, my idea wasn't to have someone in the house. Thankfully, she said she ran a test and determined it was an outside problem and they would check the lines tomorrow morning.

Good news. They came out today and checked the outside lines. The tech knocked on the door and said they did some work yesterday that should have resolved the issue. From what he said, it sounded like I wasn't the only person having the problem on the street.
