Roku - Xfinity Stream App - App Quits
We just signed up for Xfinity stream and have two Roku Premier devices setup. The problem we are experiencing is that randomnly the Xfinity Stream App doesn't launch all the way. When you start the app it begins to start up and then just quits bringing you back to the main Roku Screen. I have tried rebooting the Roku and it does the same. I have even pulled the power on it seeing if it would work after a hard reboot. The only thing that gets it working again is if I delete the app on the Roku and re-install it then register the device with Xfinity again. Has anyone else had this issue? The Roku software is up to date as well as the Xfinity Stream App. The Xfinity Stream app won't let us do anything until we delete, re-install and re-register. This has happned on both of our TV's. When registering the app I make sure to give each their own unique name when setting them up.

This happens on both Roku's we have. They are brand new (no more than two weeks old each). Got one at Best Buy and the other from Target.

sounds like a hardware issue with the roku. do you have a newer roku device in the home to try?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roku#Eighth_generation shows that there is a new generation of roku premier (didn't know). you might try a factory reset (from the roku menu) and then unplug the 'box' from AC and HDMI and remove any SD card for 3 minutes. don't add the SD card if any until you try to load and run the xfinity channel again.

I've factory reset both devices after running the latest update on them. They are both doing the same thing still. I just went to go watch something, the app starts and quickly says initializing and then quits. Rebooted the Roku again and still same issue. Had to delete the Xfinity app and re-install and register it for it to work again. We have had to use our ATT TV app to watch live TV but I have since cancelled that account to move over to Xfinity stream. We have until the end of the month before the AT&T TV app will no longer work.
The Roku is setup very simply. I don't have many other apps installed and since the factory reset I just installed the Xfinity app.

Yes they do. They never "Sign Out" or stop working. It's almost like when I sign into one Roku, the other one stops working. Once I get that one working, the other one stops working. It goes back and forth. Sometimes the Xfinity app won't launch at all or the Xfinity app has logged me out and i have to re-register the Roku with Xfinity.

without a cable box in the home only 2 simultaneous streaming devices can be used. with at least one set top box installed and working, you can have up to 5 simultaneous streams. You may be turning on a 'third' which logs off one of the others? possible?
