Periodic audio desync on MHz Choice
Hi Comcast community - hoping for some help with a problem.
We watch on-demand programs from MHz Choice with our Xfinity X1. This has worked fine for a year.
About two weeks ago, we started getting audio problems. About 5-7 minutes into the program, the audio will "rewind" about 10 seconds and begin repeating itself. The video continues on. After about 10 seconds of this, the audio will cut out for a few seconds, then come back synchronized. The audio will stay synchronized for another 5-7 minutes, then the same thing will happen again.
It doesn't happen while watching live TV or the Netflix app, and it doesn't seem to happen with on-demand other than MHz choice. There are never problems with video.
Comcast support tried resetting the box etc, but it didn't help. So they sent out a new X1 box. I installed and activated the X1 box, but the problem immediately recurred.
Any ideas? If we can't fix this we'll have to cancel the MHz subscription and watch it with something else.

I also called Xfinity tech support and they reset the cable box and tried some other diagnostic fixes. The problem continues. I do not need a new cable box as the issue only occurs with the MHz Choice content.
I then contacted tech support at MHz Choice, but was informed they could not help if my subscription was through Xfinity. They suggested I cancel the subscription through Xfinity and resubscribe directly with MHz choice and use a Roku, Firestick or Apple tv device for streaming.
Xfinity needs to resolve this issue if they want to keep offering MHz Choice on their platform.

So we're just cancelling our Xfinity MHz subscription, subscribing direct with MHz, and watching on a $30 Chromecast.
On the whole it's a plus. The MHz iPad app is easier to use than navigating through the X1 remote, and the picture is sharper since it doesn't pass through the X1 smoothing filter (or whatever the X1 does to skin textures).
Very occasionally the stream goes to a lower resolution, but otherwise we're not looking back.

Same type of problem since first subscribed to MHz through Xfinity six months ago. Audio goes out of synch, lines are repeated erroneously, and pausing and resuming the program always causes problems. Audio might synch correctly for 15 minutes, then go out of whack for several minutes, then get in synch again. Stopping a program half-way through means that when you resume the next day or an hour later, it restarts the show from the beginning. Fast forward is in 20 second increments, takes forever, and you can't tell where you left off unless you wrote down the minute where you paused the program. Exactly the same problem with the Walter Presents network, to which I subscribed over a year ago. Xfinity seems unable to fix. Paying for a service not received. Makes it virtually unwatchable, except that nearly all programs are in a foreign language and I use English subtitles, so I can follow the dialogue. Should be offered a refund.
