Same problem here. Calls incoming go straight to voicemail. See the caller ID on the TV. Can make outgoing calls. All my landline phones are functioning properly. Not related to call forwarding either. I use NoMoRobo and briefly disabled that.
Looks like a Comcast/Xfinity problem. There's been a sudden spike of reports at downdetector.com.
I too am having the same issue with my landline in Brockton, MA 02302. The calls are going straight to voicemail. I don't even see the calls on my TV Screen. The phone is not ringing either. It was working up to 5:24 pm EST yesterday afternoon and today, nothing is working right. I can see that I am not the only person this is happening with their landlines. Very strange. I need this phone when I work from home. Please provide some kind of answer. Thanks.
Around 11:45 this evening, we received a robocall from the CT Department of Emergency Services, indicating that their was a VOIP outage in comcast's service and that 911 was also affected. They suggested using a mobile device to call 911 if you need help... Anyone else hearing that?
bdpiper, I did not receive any message regarding 911. That is scary. I know people who still don't have cellphones. What do they do? Hopefully this is fixed today.
