Website Access Denied

When I log onto retail websites i.e. macys, bloomingdales, best buy I get the following error message.

You don't have permission to access the requested URL on this server.

Re: Website Access Denied

What browser are you using?  Have you tried other browsers, to eliminate a browser setting issue?  Do you have firewall security settings on your router/gateway device?

Are you trying to access the main page[s] by typing in the URL or are you using a saved URL?  Do you have online accounts with these stores?  If so, are you trying to directly access your account via a saved URL?

A little more information would help.

Re: Website Access Denied

I have the same problem when I go ashleyfurniture.com! Sometimes I can reach the homepage, but if I start clicking on pages or searching the site, I get the access denied message alone with a reference number. I'm not sure if the numbers have all been the same, but this is the one from today: Reference #18.c53f3717.1592937554.358ecbac

I use Chrome on two different computers. I've also tried Opera thinking it was some weird thing with Chrome. The only way I'm able to browse this website is on my phone using the 4G and not WiFi.

My main computer is Windows and has the plain ol Windows Defender firewall with the default settings. My work computer is a Mac; I'm not sure of the firewall situation there. My phone definitely has no firewall and I get this same message when I'm on my WiFi.

Re: Website Access Denied

I've started to have the same issue starting a day ago. Either typing in the web address or using Lastpass to go to a website, I get the "Access Denied" message. For example, typing in "https://washingtonpost.com" results in the Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://washingtonpost.com" on this servier.

I've used 3 different computers, 4 different browsers and my phone and still get this result. As of this time, I'm working with my bank to restore access to my online banking. Also, I'm going through my list of logins to check other websites. So far, I'm having this issue with six, and I feel I'm going to find more.

Something has changed somewhere and I've yet to find what it may be. Most troubleshooting reccomendations I've found refer to DNS problems. Running the Network Troubleshooter in Windows 10 always results in same answer: "contact website owner to obtain permission."

Re: Website Access Denied

Update to situation: Was using Arris SVG2482AC gateway. Contacted Comcast customer support and we concluded that the gateway firewall might be causing the problem. Since it was long out of warranty, I replaced it with an Arris T45 gateway and a TP-Link AC1750 router. Everything worked fine on Friday (when I installed it) and Saturday. Early on Sunday (about 3am) internet service was lost for about 5 minutes. When it came back, so did the problems.
