Not receiving spam

First some particulars.  Using windows 10 x64 on desktop; Mozilla Thunderbird email program.  I do not have a spam folder in Thunderbird.  If I want to check the spam folder I must sign into my email account on xfinity.com

I have been expecting an email - which has been sent twice according to the source - and I suspect it went into my spam folder.  Trouble is my spam folder is empty and has been for the last two weeks that I have been checking it trying to find this email.  Used to be LOTS of spam email in that folder when I periodically checked and emptied it.  There has been none, zero, zip, nada - not one darn email in that folder for two weeks.  ????? I have checked with the sender and they DO HAVE the correct email address.

In the advanced (mail) settings, the "Enable spam filtering" and "Save a copy of emails marked as spam" are both checked.  As an experiment, I unchecked them a week ago.  Checked again two days later and the spam folder was still empty.  I re-checked them and now - 5 days later - the spam folder is still empty.  What gives??????????????  I am 99% positive my missing email is being detected as spam but is not being saved in the spam folder.  In fact NO email is being saved in it, which I find very, very unusual.  I do not believe that all of a sudden I stopped receiving spam email.

Any ideas or suggestions very appreciated.

There have been numerous threads reporting certain domains (xxx.com, etc) where emails coming from them are not being delivered to or are being blocked by Comcast sporadically.  Your issue could fall in this case.  What domain are the emails coming from?  You might check out https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-Web-Browsing/Comcast-email-blocking-G-Suite/m-p/3179448

Thanks Joe.  I posted the name of the company on that thread.  We'll see what happens.

While this may help for this one company I do not think it solves / answers my concerns.  Don't get me wrong, I do not like spam but - - - I find it more than very strange that all of a sudden there is absolutely no mail in the spam folder.  Every time I have checked it, for the last two weeks, it is marked as "empty".  Comcast can't have the domain name of every outfit that sends spam.

Is there a setting somewhere that will automatically delete all spam every day or something?  Anyone know?

I don't see a name of the company posted or the domain of the emails in question.

I thought they meant they originally posted the address on 'this' thread.

@gastan  I'm not sure how much attention an ANSWERED thread gets.  You might post the address here for more attention and reference @CCAntiSpam  so if it gets resolved, this thread can be ANSWERED and LOCKED.

@gastan that domain has only sent 3 emails to our domain in the last 15 days and all were delivered succesfully. If there was an email to be delivered to you by the domain - have them review their outbound server logs to see if they are encountering any errors.

Thank you for the responses.  It is interesting that the domain I mention has successfully sent 3 emails recently.  the suggestion by jav6joev that there was a problem specific to that domain was worth investigating.  But I still have a problem.

I think the bigger picture is being lost.  My spam folder is still empty - - after more than a month.  In the past, when I would periodically log in to check and empty the spam folder there was always hundreds of spam emails.  Hundreds every 4-6 weeks.  Hundreds.  I do - cannot - believe that all of a sudden all of the spammers have "lost" my email address.  There is something wrong with this.  Why am I no longer receiving spam?

Is there a setting somewhere that, when activated/checked, automatically empties the spam folder every day - every 12 hours - every whenever?  I have looked for something like that but do not see one.

Don't get me wrong.  I do not appreciate or want spam.  BUT - - every once in a while an email that I do want gets sent into the spam folder and I must go there to retrieve it.  I STILL have not found the email I have been looking for.
