Missing Menu on xfinity web based email

About 9 times out of 10, when I call up my secondary email address (on xfinity's web based email client), the menu for the program is missing.  Thus, I cannot call up SENT, etc.  Approximately 1 out of 10  times, the menu comes up.  This behavior is obviously UNACCEPTABLE.  I contacted xfinity support, but they have so far been unable to correct the problem.

This issue occurs almost always only with my secondary email address, which I have successfully used with the email client for several years, before this wretched problem began.

Does anybody have an idea why the web based email client with xfinity is behaving so poorly?

See if this explains it-----------------

Re: Missing Menu on xfinity web based email

Thank you for taking the time to deal with my problem.

Unfortunately, the problem is not missing folders (which your solutions we cover very effectively).  The problem is that no menu of any kind is displayed (only a list of the emails).  There are no icons I can click on to get the menu back.

The xfinity web based email client is the worst I have ever used.  It is poorly designed and poorly coded.  The basic interface is not ideal.

I am not computer illiterate.  In my early days, I coded compilers in machine language.  I am, however, resentful that I pay a great deal of money to Comcast every month and have to put up with web based email that does not work properly, and customer service people who are apparently incapable of solving this annoying problem.  If I had a good alternative to Comcast, I would run madly away.

Thank you for trying.

Re: Missing Menu on xfinity web based email SUCCESS !!!!!

Latoque, you have made me a very happy man, and you have done something none of the official Comcast people were able to do.  YOU HAVE SOLVED MY PROBLEM.

When the list of emails showed up without the menus, the only way to condense the list of emails (from left to right) was to click on the square box at the upper right of the screen.  Doing that apparently hid the "show folders" option that is at the lower left on the full screen.

Once I found and clicked on SHOW FOLDERS, the menu returned.  Thank you for what you did.

PS    "Show Folders" is a misnomer.  It should say:  "Show Menus."  There is a great deal there other than folders.

I'm glad we got you sorted out.  But can you please specify what box in the upper right corner you re referring to?  Do you mean the Maximize/Minimize square, or something else?  Inquiring minds will want to know.

Re: Missing Menu on xfinity web based email SUCCESS !!!!!

I was referring to the maximize/minimize square.  When I downsized the screen using the square, I could not see the "Hide Folders" in the extreme lower left of the screen.  The solution was as simple as that.  The Comcast support people must have spent at least four or five hours with my problem.  They should have caught that subtlety.  Thank you for catching it.  While I have you here, let me ask you another question.  How can I get the Search button to search through emails?

The Search feature becomes active when you start to type something into the Search field.  It will expand to the right, and at the end of the field you will see the option to select the folder you want to search, or "All folders".

As to your experience on the phone with Comcast, keep in mind that not all Comcast employees necessarily use their own Comcast email account, and may not be that familiar with all the bells and whistles in it.  This is a pretty common scenario from what I've seen here in the forums.
