How do I mark a post as the "best answer?" This system offers instruction on how to do it.

Every time I get a reply on this forum, I am asked mark the post as the "best answer.' This system offers instruction on how to do it.

I have looked for how to do it myself, but the forum's search algorytm returns a plethora of results, none of which are helpful or pertainent.

This conversation is no longer open for comments or replies and is no longer visible to community members.

Hello again ComastCSAEmail,

So, are you saying that the only one who can only mark an answer as 'Best" is the person who started the thread?

If so, THIS KIND OF THING SHOULD BE IN THE FORUM FAQ!

I searched the FAQ several times before I asked my question.

This forum is uselss.

ALL of the answers I have gotten from "experts" have lacked VITAL DETAILS which has ultimately resulted in too much of my time being wasted.

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS FORUM!

@gwhicks right, so would make sense that the person asking the question can mark the issue as resolved/best answer. I do know that the Experts and Admins/Employees can also mark posts as 'Best Answer'.

Experts are people just like you who have dedicated their time to try and help others. I understand if you have some criticism for them, but if you feel they are excluding information that would have been useful, maybe let them know and not withold positive and crucial criticism so in future instances they are aware and can be of better assistance to you and others.

But again, keep in mind that they are not employed by Comcast so in some instances they would not be able to provide insights to issues that Comcast internally may be aware of or has already received reports about. Due to that i can see how in some instances it may seem like they are not providing information that would have been useful.

If you want, you are welcome to PM me with the instance you experienced this and i can relay the feedback for you.

There has to be at least one response to the opening post in a thread for the "Best answer" button to appear.  It is to the right of the Reply button.

@gwhicks there are 3 vertical dots on each post. When you hover over one, a dropdown menu should appear with the "best answer" option for that specific post you are hovering over the 3 dots for.

Hello,

Thanks for the response.

I submitted this question because I posted on the following subject:

https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-Web-Browsing/Repeated-forced-password-resets/m-p/3310197#M215977

I just looked at it again and there is no "best Answer" button at all.

So it would seem that what constitues a reply and what does not has become the issue, since I do see the button on this message thread.

@gwhicks

Is the post in the image the same one you want marked as Best Answer?  If so, I have marked it for you.

Hello ComcastCSAEmail,

There is no "Best Answer" menu choice (or button to the right of the reply button) on the thread I am talking about.

See attached picture.

@gwhicks i see what you mean - you didnt create the thread so it is not available for you to select the best answer.

check it in this thread - does it appear for you?
