Can't add a new email address

Hi.  I've got 2 comcast email addresses and want to add a 3rd.  I hit Add Mail Account and it asks for my "Mail Address" and my password.  Is that my *existing* address that I want to add to?  Or the *new* one I want to add?  Tried both ways and each time I get "Auto configuration failed.  Do you want to configure your account manually?" 

So I tried the new one and it wants to know the account name, server name, and a bunch of other stuff.  I have no clue what that is so I bailed on that and tried the existing one and it wants to know the account name.  How am I supposed to know what any of this is?

If you're using the Xfinity Connect webmail via a browser, the email address you want to add is what you should be entering as the mail address and password.  You can click on the Settings icon (gearbox, upper right) and then select Accounts to see those acount names, server name and other stuff of the current email accounts you have.  That should give you a clue as to what to add for the new one, assuming it is another existing Comcast account that you know the password to. 

   If you're trying to create a new Comcast email address period, this is not the process.  To create a new email account you log into your Comcast account and select 'Users' where you can create a new one which creates a new email account/address as well.

I am a new customer. how did you set up your second email address? I am having problems because I need to add 4-5 more email addresses to my personal account. I have tried to follow the directions xfinity has but it is not working.

no. it did not work.  basically, I gave up and went to google and created several more, and along with the one that Xfinity gave me and my cloud email and my original google address I may have enough. I am not even going to use xfinity as my main email provider. I use MAC mail. so I have already linked all those new google email addresses to mac mail and I have linked the Xfinity email to my MAC mail. thanks for trying to help me. 🙂
