Yesterday I received a phone call from somebody claiming to be from Comcast/Xfinity. He stated that our TVs were outdated (they're not) and we needed to upgrade or update our service. It would cost $130 which would be refunded over the course of six months. It all sounded fishy and I declined the offer. I'm not sure what the end game was.
We switched to Comcast/Xfinity awhile ago and have had no problems whatsoever. Has anybody else received a call like this?

Unfortunately, yes, what you experienced is something that is pretty common when it comes to phone service regardless of the carrier. Sometimes the caller is who they say they are and sometimes they're not. It's not always easy to tell.
