Power Outage Communication
We are 100% Comcast - TV, Internet, Phone, Mobile. So we are dependent upon you for our survival in an emergency. We live in an area prone to wildfires so if we can’t make or receive calls we are at great risk! We just had 2 days of no power - we have a generator but that doesn’t really help our ability to get or receive communications. What can you do to help people like us during these critical times?

Thank you for posting your questions here in the Xfinity Forum. As CCAndrew pointed out, unfortunately when your power is out there is not much we can do to help. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
With your Comcast cellular phones, you can always check the status of your account via Xfinity My Account. There you will be able to see if your account is currently in an outage or if anything could be impacting your services. You can also watch local news programs on your Comcast cellular phone via the Xfinity Stream website or app for the latest communications in your area. Additionally, after doing a quick Google search there does appear to be multiple different ways you can receive AM/FM radio programming via your cellular phone.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

I'm in California with several power outages forecast again this fire season. Xfinity provides back up power for (8) hours after the outage. BUT last year during one of the outages you provided (24) hours! So I know with your "watts on wheels" generator trucks you can do much better than just 8 hours. And NO the "hot spots do not work during a power outage. With all the power outages coming up I'm sure you can spend some of your $$ to lengthen the "back up service" so we can be SAFE! I will pay double if you do.

California fire season is soon to come with many forecasted power outages already in the news. When the power goes down Xfinity supplies it's customers ONLY 8 hours of Xfinity back up? Last year you provided 24 hours for one of the many outages, so I know you can do better than 8 hours! With your "watts on wheels" generator trucks you should be able to provide emergency service for days if YOU wanted too! And NO the "hot spots" don't work when the power is down so they are useless. Please direct this post to your supervisors to improve customer relations and help keep us SAFE! I am willing to pay a surcharge for emergency service if necessary. Thank you!
