Why is the Xfinity HBO Max app UI (horrible) different than the HBO Max UI on the web/mobile app?

Why is the UI for Xfinity HBO Max so terrible?

- No user data (no previously viewed, continue watching, saves, favorites, etc.)

- Painfully slow browse, select, search, etc.

- No "next episode" option??

- No "skip intro"

- No "skip recap"

- No "return to series episodes list"

- Generic rew/play/ff UI

The HBO Max app on the web app and mobile app is fantastic!

 

Will Xfinity fix their horrific HBO Max UI or are we stuck with it liek this?

I found this note on an HBO Max help page regarding profiles:

The HBO Max app on Xfinity devices doesn't support multiple profiles just yet.

When I want to watch something on HBO Max, I typically use my Roku. It also has the full feature set. No idea why the X1 app is so simplified, unless there is something about the deal with Comcast to prevent individualized user access.
