Why has channel 9 changed from WSBE-TV, RI PBS, to a commercial stations?

Channel 9, which has been WSBE (RI PBS), is now only WSBE PBS from 9 am to 9 pm.  From 9pm to 9am it is a commercial station with ads.  This is NOT what I signed up for.  And none of the other stations listed as WSBE and WSBE-DT are 24/7 PBS any more. WSBE-DT2 is still 24/7 PBS.  What gives?

Have you tried contacting the PBS station to find out why?
