I do not know what the status of Marquee sports will be but I do object to the cost of their fans and non-fans. I for one will consider changing my choice of TV provider if the cost goes up to support the Cubs payroll. Comcast, please hold the line and not pay the Cubs

So you draw the line on a $4 charge to have the Cubs on your cable while paying over $8.00 already for a reginal sports network already on Comcast? That fee make Reinsdorf richer, since 2 of the teams on that network are owned by him. I guess I just do not get this distain for the Cubs wanting to make money. Maybe Comcast should give us the option of the RSN for $8.25 or the Marqueee network for $4.00, or both. For me, if I cut either it would be RSN.
For the record, I don't like paying for TV either. However, it is what is done. If I am going to pay I want to watch the team I root for.
I have been a loyal Comcast customer and have spent a lot of money for the convenience and selection. But mostly it's about the programming and if I cannot get cubs games it makes absolutely no sense for me to remain with Comcast. Get it done.
I lived in the Chicago area for 35 years and became a Cubs fan for life. I moved out of state to the northeast, transferring my Comcast service, and in order to watch the Cubs and Tigers (grew up in Michigan) in my local area, I purchased a subscription to MLB.TV thru my Amazon Prime TV. Now I can watch my favorite teams and as much baseball as I want. I know it isn't the same as having full access to Marquee Sports Network programming, but at least I can see the games I want and it is not too expensive. I was watching a replay of the Tigers/Braves spring training last night and saw that Kelly Crull is now working with Fox Sports Atlanta and the Braves. Also, Dave Kaplan didn't move to Marquee Sports Network. Apparently, there were personnel issues along with issues like those with Comcast carrying the network broadcast. Bummer.
The main complaint many people will have is if EVERYBODY is forced to pay $4+ in higher RSN fees, even if they don't give a bleep about the Cubs. I have no complaint if it's offered stand-alone or part of the Sports/Entertainment package, but will SERIOUSLY consider alternative TV serivces if my RSN fee goes up even more.
But it is no different then having to pay $8.00 for the RSN. If I have to choose I wouldn’t have that. But I have to have it. Why now is this different? If RSN doesn’t give me the Cubs, then I don’t need it.
I was told that you only need to keep one service from Comcast to not break the contract. You could probably keep just internet or phone and switch to DirecTV. I will be having to do that myself if a deal is not done. I will give Comcast until May 1st though. Dont want to change for opening day and then they get a deal done 3 days later. Ill give them a month
This is getting ridiculous. Do you really want to lose aclient of 30+ years because you can't figure out a way to bring the Marquee network to Chicago Cubs fans. Half the reason I have cable is to be able to watch the Cubs. Get it figured out or I may have to get my cable service from someone else. I can't afford to have multiple streaming services just because you can't work out a deal with the Cubs.
...because you live outside of the Chicago Cubs "local zone." Most, if not all, of the people complaining about the lack of Marquee Network live in the Cubs zone, where MLB.TV will black out Cubs home games, if not all Cubs games; the reason from MLB will be, "Get Marquee Network."
.
.
I live inside the Boston Red Sox "local zone" and am still able to see their games via MLB.TV even when on NESN, at least spring training right now. You'll have to get MLB.TV's response before speculating.

I can guarantee you the game is blacked out if you live in the Chicago area.
For any who are wondering, I have MLB.TV and live in Chicago. We do NOT get the Cubs or White Sox games on MLB.TV because of MLB blackout rules. Those rules are set forth by MLB so getting angry at the Cubs or Marquee for that is useless. If you live within a teams local viewing area the ONLY way to see the game is through TV in that market. In the past, that meant Cubs games were either on NBCSNChicago, WGN, ABC or some off-shoot of those channels. Since now all games (with the exception of a few national broadcasts on ESPN or Fox) will be on the Marquee network, that is the ONLY way we, at least legally, that we can see games. That means that if Comcast does not come to an agreement with Marquee we will be unable to watch Chicago Cubs games in Chicago unless we switch to another provider. MLB.TV will NOT help you unless you are outside of the local viewing area or find a way to trick your router into thinking you live in Montana or something.
You’ve got a couple of weeks to get the marquee network. If you can’t work out a deal, this customer of 20+ years is gone. There are several other options in my area!
So I was told by someone that several people have been told today that Comcast is not going to carry Marquee. Has anyone else heard that? Honestly, if I know that is true I will be gone sooner. Makes it easy to move on.

I am a lifelong Cubs Fan but I don't want my cable bill to be higher with extra charges to show Cubs games to make Cubs ownership richer
