Late NIght Shows

Why are the late night talk shows never  current.  For example, tonight's Late NIght with Seth Meyers is a Repeat dated 9/25/19.  The CBS and NBC late night shows were repeats also.  Why is that?  Iss it a matter of costs  Does it cost Xfinity less to show reruns than the current shows?

Thanks!

That’s the actual shows themselves, they build in time off throughout the year. Those shows don’t and have never run new episodes all year round. Normally around times when viewership is lower.

As noted, they are not always new. Colbert and Fallon were repeats this week (10/14-10/18). As noted in last Thursday's show, Colbert is in New Zealand filming some bits for the show (and he's a big "Lord of the Rings" fan, which was filmed in NZ.) Also, November is a ratings "sweeps" month, so some shows may take a week or two off and then run new all November.
