Not on the X1 boxes, the apps aren’t customizable, everyone has the same

Not exactly true, but close enough. I'm fortunate enough to have a couple of varieties of X1 devices, much to any service techs chagrin.

Smart TVs do have browsers, but they are custom, and for sure not Internet Explorer.
