Yes, I saw that on my recent Xfinity statement. That's the good news. HOWEVER, they are also telling us they are increasing the Regional Sports Fee by $6.20/mo. because of the additon of Marquee Sports Network (Chicago Cubs). So...we pay this whether we watch the Cubs or not (and I'm a White Sox fan!). Presumably, this continues through the fall, winter and into the spring, when there are no Cubs games being broadcast.
WOW! Charging an addt'l $6 + dollars! I haven't rcv'd any credit yet for Regional Sports Fee or even a notice stating there willl be credits on my bill statement. Some Way - Some How am going to find an alternative - Greedy Pigs!
The Regional Sports Fee for the Chicago area prior to this increase was $8.25/mo. That means beginning Oct. 1 the fee will now be $11.45/mo., and that's for the addition of one channel, Marquee Sports Network. Basically, this channel broadcasts Chicago Cubs games and little else of interest, and what's ahead during the winter months? There's no option to decline the channel or the fee - if you live here, and you're a Comcast customer with any sports programming, ya gotta pay it.
I'm usually pretty good at math, but somehow I messed up my post of 9/16. Actually, the Regional Sports Fee in the Chicago area beginning Oct. 1 will be $14.45.
Apologies. Our impacted customers are expected to start seeing communication on this in October.
Thanks for your patience.
Just discovered that Comcast has credited my account $13.17 as a refund against the Regional Sports Fee that billed us for no sports being played during the summer. That's a good start. Now let's do something about the Marquee Sports Network fee (Chicago area) that is about to be added and very few people here are willing to pay.
