Rates went up

Ive been a Comcast customer for 12 years.    I moved last year and got offered a good deal on internet coming back to Comcast.    Now the rate has gone up.    I am now to the point of canceling my services and going to Windstream.    Can someone help me out?    It s hassle switching but the rate increas was too much.

That's how they operate. Switch and bait. A really strange tactic where they want you to call in every so often to renegotiate. They give you a "good deal" but if you read the fine print, the rates jump up automatically.

I've been asking them to show me their product packages that are NOT on their promotional sale switch and bait plans. They always say they'll get back with me and they never do.

Bait and switch, not switch and bait.

If you're in a contract you're on a promotion for a certain amount of time.  Promotions can be 3 or 6 months, 1 year or 2 years.  After the promotion is over rates will go up to every day pricing.  Rates are never stagnant.  When Comcast makes negotiations to supply services and they end up having to pay more to the vendors, those costs are also passed along to the customers.  That's normal business.  A customer can negotiate to get a better rate, but it usually comes with another contract.  Fees, taxes and surcharges are not usually included in the contract so those are liable to increase at any given time.  It's a typical business model.  Yes, rates do jump automatically - usually after that promotion is up, or when the fees, taxes and surcharges increase.
