70 dollar install fee
I do not think it is right to charge a customer for the install of cable wires to a house that has not previously had internet or comcast services. I think that really should be billed to comcast. I would have liked to self install but im not legally allowed to touch the wires at the pole, ptherwise i would have. Do you think its fair to charge a customer to install wires that now make xfinity services a permanent option for this address for future cashflow for the company by being able to offer internet and tv services to this service address going forward?
I was told by the tech and the rep on the phone that i could get the fee waived, however after the install i called and they told me its not possible .

Hey there, ac540, thanks so much for reaching out through our Forums platform! I see you are a new poster and I truly appreciate you joining the Xfinity Forums community! I definitely appreciate your feedback regarding the installation fees. Our technicians receive several hours of training on the increasingly complex products and services. As more products are introduced over the years, the time and expertise required to make everything work together effectively have increased. A professional installation is worth more than ever. We only try to pass on to our customers a small portion of the overall cost spent on installation fees. Also, we do always try and offer Self-Installation when available as a wonderful option to our customer to set up services faster and without any additional fees.
I would be happy to take a look at your installation fees on your account. Can you please send me a Private Message with your full name and your full address so I can pull up your account?
