Xfinity Gateway won’t activate in my bedroom
I need the Xfinity Gateway in my bedroom but the cable outlet does not seem to work. I was able to get it working in my living room but that’s not where I want it. I tried calling the customer support line to request a technician come out to fix the outlet but it doesn’t seem possible to actually get any help with the support line.

That outlet may be disconnected from the main coax cable splitter / Comcast feed. You may be able to trace the line from that outlet back to the main splitter somewhere (if there actually is one) and reconnect it. If you can do it yourself, you would save the possible $100.00 charge for the tech visit. Good luck !

Hi there, @user_zt1h8m! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community Forum. @EG, had some great advice on tracing the line to the main splitter and seeing if you can redirect. Saving that, we can have a tech out to assist. There would be a cost of $100 involved though. If you need to move forward with that option, please send a direct message to us by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, click on the pen and paper icon, then enter “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section. Please include your full name and complete street address.
