xFi pods, wifi extender, are they worth it?

So I have 400mb down plan, wifi works great, usually 300 or more always except, I live in a 2 story, 4 bedroom, and on lower level, opposite corner, I can get some very low speeds (10-20 mb down) and suffers with things like Facetime, even simple internet and facebook on the iPad etc.  I have tried a couple wifi extenders from Amazon, they are simply junk.  Anyone have any experiences with these xFi pods?  If I buy one of the new ones, and it doesn't help, can I return it for credit or refund?  Any other options I might have?  thanks.

Hi, @SpencerPJ. Great question about the pod option. Our second-generation xFi pods are good for 3-4 bedrooms and 2 floors. The great convenience is they work with all of the gateway xFi and Xfinity app features and will automatically learn for the best connection over the first few weeks.(gateway or pod) They come with a 30 day money-back guarantee and a 1 year warranty. You can opt for 3rd party mesh system and put the gateway in bridge mode, but you will lose many features of xFi. It is worth a try!

@XfinityEthan I'd love to try one, seems like pulling teeth to order, and will be even more difficult to return if they work as poorly as the ones I ordered off Amazon.  Any simple suggestions?

Also, do they tend to keep and repeat the speed they receive?  The ones I ordered (highly rated neatgear etc), literally sat next to a 400mb down router, repeating 50 mb.

Thanks for your help.
