Xfi pod setup requiring me to change my password log in to 1 password for both bandwidths, why? My house uses 2 pwb1 4 ea signal.

I am totally frustrated & said goodby to 3 tech in last 2 hrs.!!! &$#%@!*. Tech 1 India: untrained put me on hold 5 times in 1 hr & still couldn't  answer my question.

Tech 2. Listened to my question, decided to ignore me by asking me to verify equipment serial numbers,  when I asked why she need me to access the modem that is in a hard place to reach, and the info is on my account device list, ( I just viewed in my app) She said she wanted to verify for herself¿¿¿¿ Then I asked question again,  She total ignored me and stated...Are you ready for me to Activate the pod???? NO! Answer my question, she said I am Activating your pod on the lower band now...¿¿ I said I am hanging up you will not answer my questions...Don't  call me back...she called back 2x's. Anyway while I was attempting to log on here.

My Question...

My internet is using 2 dedicated passwords, 1 for each signal, 2.4 & 5.?. I tried a few yrs back for the second time to use 1 password & let system decide which bandwidth to assign to my different devices.all my smart devices ie( 2 Google mini spkr -1 G. Home spkr/Sm. plugs/ Thermostat /Printer etc. are on 2.5. Dedicated Password•

Phones/ laptop/ 3Television/ 2 Firesticks/ 1 Zumo box/ are on 5.? Signal w dedicated pw.

I switched to 1 pw to allow system to choose for ea item & over a year almost daily I had connection drops. IM exp.Honeywell therm stopped connecting after a year...the log showed almost daily drops & it caused the the wifi component to die! I was out almost 300 together w buying a new ecobee therm. I returned to using 2 dedicated pw's. Now today after 2+ yrs of attempts to get a pod & xf agents setting up escalate to monitor my system ( I have been w xfininity/ Comcast for 20+yrs.)

12/20 - 3/21 Added xf comp service nothing done ,no pod, dropped xf comp.)

(9/22-10/22-11/22)3 Agents escalated acct to get pod/0 monitor, no pod.

(12/21-3/21) ,Again got XF complete, after 3.5 mos, nothing, no pod dropped complete.

(9/23-2/13/24) xf complete added no monitor, no pod! Agent set me up w storm ready for better signal

2/21 called Tech support, Tech immed. Sent pod, cancelled storm ready( My home is on same elec grid as Emer. Services, hosp etc. We have had 0 outages that last over 1 minute 20+yr.

Pod came today logged into app to set up ( instructions to access set up are wrong) I located setup pod, screen 1.     •SETTINGS UPDATE REQUIRED•

U need to use 1 wify name & password for both 2.4 &  5.0 ghz bandwithsour GATEWAY & PODS will sort out the best connection at any given time.

WHY does the pod have to change my current dedicated use of both bandwiths to be activated and send me back into constant dropped signal hell?  Please help...

Hi @Windshadow Thank you for reaching out on the Xfinity Community forums. The Pods by design require the bands to be together to use them. If you wish to use the Wi-Fi Boost pod you will need to band the networks together. There would not be anyway around this setup for using the pod.

I got the pod hooked up, having issues with getting some of my smart plugs etc on line now. It's disheartening & I am 6ft away from the pod in my bedroom, all day every day this week ( week2 pod activated) and the pages on my phone are taking long load times or will not load. I I have a Samsung S23ultra, it's not causing the.. issue

Windshadow Have you tried moving the Xfinity WiFi Boost Pod closer to the Xfinity Gateway?
