XB7 Gateway Not Assigning IPv4 Addresses
Since Christmas, our gateway has been constantly failing to keep IPv4 addresses assigned to computers within the wifi LAN. We are using the XB7 gateway and two xfinity pods (no non-Comcast equipment), and while the Xfinity app swears that we are up and functioning at 100%, only IPv6 address on the internet work consistently for devices connected through the gateway. Resetting the gateway/modem might clear up the problem from anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. The event log in the admin portal for the modem is throwing up hundreds of error/events as such:
nobody[9616]: 72002012-LAN Provisioning DHCPv4-IP Address Conflict for 10.0.0.70 2025/1/6 13:12:55 Informationalnobody[8892]: 72002012-LAN Provisioning DHCPv4-IP Address Conflict for 10.0.0.168 2025/1/6 13:11:41 Informationalnobody[6631]: 72002012-LAN Provisioning DHCPv4-IP Address Conflict for 10.0.0.240 2025/1/6 13:08:12 Informational
But I don't know if those events have anything to do with the problem I am describing. This is happening pretty much constantly. The TVs work, certain devices consigned to the 2.4GHz wifi band work consistently, and the public Xfinity wifi hotspot from my gateway all work consistently. Weirdly enough, plugging an ethernet cable into the gateway does not solve the problem, so I don't think it is related to the wifi. We have had techs out multiple times now and no luck. We have moved the gateway around to ensure it wasn't a cabling issue and a tech replaced the cable running from the pole to our house. What is going on? Can anyone help? We are about at wits end.
Thanks.

Just wanted to follow up on this in case anybody has a similar problem to this. Thanks to the support folks, we isolated the issue. It was a TP-Link N300 WiFi Extender that I was using as a bridge to get an ethernet-only device (an old solar panel monitor) onto my wifi network (I use 2gen Xfinity pods for my actual mesh network). I got it months ago and initially it worked fine. But apparently it started creating IP conflicts with my Xfinity modem/gateway, and caused a number of devices on my network to fail to be assigned IPv4 addresses--so they could not connect to the internet, even through they were connected to the WiFi from the Xfinity modem/gateway (IPv6 addresses still worked for the devices, so some websites were reachable). Spent weeks trying to diagnosis a possible DHCP server or modem problem. After unplugging the TP-Link N300 WiFi Extender, the entire home network is 100% fine again. No clue what happened but clearly this device is incompatible with Comcast hardware.
