With xFi Gateway, how do I do port forwarding from an exterior port to a different interior port?

I have an xFi gateway, which requires that I use the Xfinity app to manage my port forwarding options.

(documented here:  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/port-forwarding-xfinity-wireless-gateway )

Following those instructions, I cannot figure out how to set different numbers for my start port and end port.

I would like for incoming requests on port 443 to be forwarded to port 1443 on my home server, but I see only one entry for a port number in the port forwarding interface.

Am I missing something?

The instructions for users with an Xfinity Gateway state that start and end ports are available for one of the four Common Services (FTP, AIM, HTTP, PPTP) but it seems those options aren't available in the mobile app interface provided for users with the xFi Gateway.

Hello kwileyk, thanks for taking the time to reach out on our Forums. We value and appreciate you being a customer with us and my team is here to support you.

Since you have an xFi Gateway and can only set up port forwarding using the Xfinity app, please follow this link Set up port forwarding using the Xfinity app - Xfinity Support. Let us know if that information provides you with better direction. Thank you!

Thank you for the guidance.

On the link you provided, I don't see any instructions on how to forward an incoming port to a different port.

For example, I would like incoming requests on port 443 to be forwarded to port 1443 on my home server.

In the xFi app, can I only forward incoming requests to the same port on a target device?

If so, please tell me if and why this functionality was removed?  It's something we used to be able to do in the admin tool.

Hmmm.  We are definitely check into that for you @kwileyk.  When accessing the admin tool are you noticing just that option is gone?

Apologies for the delay in response.  I'll try to answer your question as well as I can, in the hopes that you can help check into it.

When accessing the web admin tool for our modem, it said that I have to use the xFi app for port forwarding.

When I go to the xFi app to set up port forwarding, it only provides one entry field for the port, which I assume is to set the incoming port to forward to the designated internal IP address.  But, I don't see a way to indicate that the forward should point to a different port on that designated internal IP address.

Trying to phrase it another way: I don't see an apparent way to indicate different incoming ports and outgoing ports.

Am I missing something?

I would like incoming requests on port 443 to be forwarded to port 1443 on my home server.

How would I do that, since the web admin tool no longer provides an option to set up port forwarding?

Yeah I've never seen the option to change outside port and inside port differently since the new management system was put in years and years ago. Only outside->inside same port #

old guides indicate that this used to be possible, though maybe never on the gateways. it's really disappointing if that feature doesn't return
