Wireless Printer

About a month ago Xfinity replaced my router. Last week I bought a new printer and hooked it up to my network wirelessly. The printer as well as the 3 computers in my home are all shown as connected on the Xfinity app, but the computers don't "see" the printer. After ruling out my network security and restarting the modem and computers, the only idea I have left is to ask if the modem is somewhow preventing the computers from seeing the printer? I've even manually entered the printer IP address on one of the computers but when I hit print, it just stays in the que. Any Comcast help out there???

After going through a 36 hour power outage because of an ice storm, it started working. I have no explanation other than the power on the modem, printer, and desk top all being out. Good luck!

I'm having this exact same problem.  Have you gotten any help?

If you have the white Gateway router, I had the same problem; my Epson printer WF 4720 was working fine till the gateway was upgraded to white.  After spending the day being told by Xfinity level 2 tech saying it was epson's problem, I checked the internet and found others with the same problem.  Xfinity "super techs" called me that evening, said he was going to work on my gateway remotely and separate the signal outputs to 2.5 and 5.0.  My printer only works on 2.5 and it was not reading the gateway signal until this tech made some changes to the gateway and allowed it to send the two signals separately.  When I turned the printer back on, it saw two signals from my router - 2.5 and 5.0.  I chose the 2.5 and the printer started working fine.

You can use all your other devices on 5.0 for better quality AND your computers will see the printer as it works on 2.5.

Working fine now.  Hope this helps everyone switching to the new Gateway, because I can tell it is a lot faster than the black one.

Yes this is a problem with HP printers. My latest HP Laser Printer came with a warning that it would only work on 2.5.
