Wireless Printer not working since upgrading to xb7 modem. (Epson Artisan 837)

I was told I needed to upgrade in January, so they sent an XB7 modem. Everything else  works as before with the exception of the printer not being able to receive wireless requests from our phones. The printer is recognized on the network, looking at the Xfinity app. I have re-setup the printer multiple times including clearing the memory in the printer. I completely removed the printer from the network. All attempts have failed. The printer is a Epson Artisan 837. that worked fine before the modem upgrade and works now with USB cable from Desktop.

I saw several articles that are a few years old for the same issue but no solution that was apparent and no recent articles.

Anyone have a solution?

Hey, tcoop2024! Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums! I apologize to hear that you are having issues with trying to print to your Epson Artisan 837. Can you let us know that was able to connect back to your network? It looks like this printer might only work on a 2.4 GHz band and not 5 GHz band which the modem may be trying to steer the printer to.

Michael, the printer is connected to the home network at 2.4G looking at the Xfinity app. I think the printer is only capable of 2.4G.

Thank you for letting me know that the printer is on the 2.4g band. Do you have any other devices having issues print wirelessly to the printer or is it just the phones?

We also have a laptop that shows the printer offline.

@tcoop2024  I see most of these issues revolving around the XB7, but no resolution at this time from what I can see. Is your XB7 automatically choosing which channel to put your printer on?

Shawn, the channel is being selected automatically. This is the only device listed with a Reserved IP 10.0.0.132.

I did change address based on previous posts but no luck.

@tcoop2024 If no other devices are having an issue connecting, it may be an issue with the printer. Have you tried potentially to upgrade to the XB8?

No, I haven't tried to upgrade to xb8. I thought I would have gotten the latest modem when updating. How do I go about asking for a XB8 update?

It may be due to the security level of your box. It may have to be lowered to WPA2 in order to get the 2.4 GHz channel.
