After installing my new gateway, my wireless computers say they can't connect to the Internet with advanced security enabled.

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

@EG Xfinity was not able to fix the problem. I talked to advanced technical support and they were unable to do anything. It turns out that the new gateway/modem was developed leaving older technology such as laptops, wireless cards, etc. out in the cold. I was able to connect without a problem to my old gateway (which I received 5 years ago). Upon installing the new gateway, one of my older laptops was unable to connect via wireless due to this situation. On an ethernet cable, it worked fine. This is the only answer provided. If anyone else has better luck, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Hey @dbtech1, Thanks for reaching out through our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. Some older devices may not like some certain network settings. Some options you can try based on the information provided: Turn Off Advance Security, Turn off band steering, purchase a cheap router/AP for the older devices that may not like the current network configuration. Please give these a try and let us know if it helps. Some helpful pages are listed below.

- Use Xfinity xFi Advanced Security
