My WiFi is not connecting to my whole house. I have to unplug the modem each time to connect to my whole house. Do I need a new modem?

Hello @user_hiln5i, and thanks for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forums!
I can see how frustrating it would be to keep unplugging the modem just to get Wi-Fi working throughout your home. Having to restart it regularly doesn’t necessarily mean you need a new modem, so let’s see if we can narrow down what’s happening first.
When this happens, do your devices completely disconnect from Wi-Fi, or do they still show as connected but without internet? Is it happening everywhere in the house or mainly in certain rooms? And are all of your devices affected at the same time?
In the meantime, make sure the coax cable and power cord going to the modem are nice and secure. If you can, it also helps to keep the modem in an open, central area of the home rather than tucked inside a cabinet or behind other electronics. You can also run a connection test through the Xfinity app to see if it detects anything that needs attention.
Once we know a little more about what you’re seeing, we can help figure out whether we’re dealing with the modem itself, the connection coming into the home, or simply WiFi coverage.
