Wi-Fi Printer No Longer Prints Now That I'm Using Xfinity WiFi Service

I've never had a problem before with this printer communicating with my laptop through Wi-Fi to print (HP98553E - HP OfficeJet Pro 6960).  I just switched over Internet services to Xfinity and now my Wi-Fi printer no longer prints by way of wireless communication.  I had to hard-wire the laptop to the printer for it to print this morning.  Wireless print requests to the printer just sit in the printer queue, and the printer states it's offline.  It's not.  I haven't seen anywhere in the printer device setup where it states a specific Network name... but I'm wondering if that's related to the printing problem...  It seems the Wi-Fi printer doesn't recognize the new network established with Xfinity hardware.  The Xfinity modem is fine, Wi-Fi services through the modem is working just fine for my laptop (which is currently working wireless to the Internet).   How do I fix this problem?

Hey there, @LJCastro! Sorry to hear your printer and Xfintiy WiFi are not working properly, together. Are you using a router separate from your modem, or are you using a gateway?  You might need the IP from the router in order to make sure your printer is picking up the correct IP.  If your printer comes with a screen, make sure the IP there matches the one in the router.

The concern is not "accessibility / disability" help related. Thread moved here to the proper help section.....

If you check your HP printer manual(s) you may be able to use Wi-Fi Direct mode on one or all printers.

 The print signals are sent directly from device: computer, laptop, smart phone to printer chosen.

@LJCastro  --  When changing internet providers, or, even when obtaining new equipment from an existing provider, there are some printers which will not connect to a new network connection via Wi-Fi unless the printer is first reset to factory defaults.  The reason -- the previous wireless configuration is stored in the printer and it's trying to use that.  Unfortunately, printer manufacturers don't always tell you this.  I've had to do it years ago with some HP printers and had to do it a week ago with a Canon printer when I upgraded my Comcast gateway.  Please consult your HP user manual.  Also you might consider checking the HP customer forums.

@LJCastro

The two WiFi bands SSID's have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. Some devices get confused and don't know how to see / talk to combined SSID's.

If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 names and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

That printer utilizes the 2.4 GHz band only. Associate the printer with the new 2.4 SSID (broadcast name) and password.
