wifi drop since modem upgrade

Deeply regretting upgrading the modem at the moment. Wifi keeps dropping on my laptop and nothing seems to fix it. Can't talk to anyone at xfinity and the chat assistant keeps circulating through the same 5 steps without any resolution. The wifi destroyed one of my work zoom sessions and I have one more this evening that I am dreading. Please help!

@XfinityMartyR I have done these several times. No resolution. I had to hardwire a LAN cable finally to make sure that my work wouldn't continue to get impacted but that is not a long-term solution. There is something wrong with the way the new modem is connecting to my laptop over wifi. Was not anticipating this trouble over a modem upgrade offered by xfinity!

Thank you for confirming that you have already done those several times @user_wr2a38 without resolution and we understand your frustrations. I work from home as well so I completely understand where you are coming from. I'm glad hard wiring the LAN cable is working for now but you're right that it is not a long term solution. We'd be happy to help take a closer look at your signal levels and troubleshoot further.

To get started, can you please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name along with the service address on the account? To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message: Click "Sign In" if necessary
