Verizon corrupting building internet?

I had Xfinity for 10 years in my old apartment.  I moved to another apartment in the same building.  The previous tenant had Verizon as evidenced by the equipment left behind.  Since moving (May 4), I've had several occasions of randomly losing internet. This NEVER happened in my old unit unless it was a known outage.  It's happened probably 4 times (that I know about) since my move. Last week two Verizon reps came to my door attempting to get me to switch mentioning that they had updated the fiberoptics in the building, that Verizon was much faster, they could give me a better deal and that they had heard complaints about Xfinity in the building.  I have no idea how these things works but the timing of it all is suspicious.  Could Verizon have somehow interfered with Xfinity in my building - intentionally or unintentionally - during their fiberoptics upgrade?
