Valorant ping from utah to san jose cali

Hello,

My son has been playing valorant for a while.  He typically connects to the US West servers and is seeing a ping around 50-60ms.  He used to get around 20-30ms a few years ago.

He did some digging and found a thread at about the same time he started experiencing the latency: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/pingrouting-to-ca-valorant-servers/629bb4e1855f616353aeb8ee

Is there anything that can be done to improve the latency to these gaming servers?

Thanks,

-Allen

@allenfs Hello and welcome to the Xfinity Community Forums! We really appreciate you taking the time to create your first post. Unfortunately, we don't have much control over latency to a specific server. There are many factors that can contribute to increased ping like more traffic, busier servers, and more hops in the path. If you were having issues on more platforms or games than the one, I would definitely start the steps to see if there is an issue with one of the network elements. There are some third-party solutions out there, but they don't work for everyone's situation. I wish I had a better answer for you.
