Ping/Routing to CA Valorant servers

Starting about 2 weeks ago, my ping to the CA valorant server jumped from about 26 to over 50 consistently. Tried the usual fixes to no avail with no issues seen from Riot Games support. Also, my other friends in UT that have xfinity are experiencing the same thing. Is there a fix or is this being worked on? Tracert linked below

Hello, @Trixington, thanks for reaching out regarding your ping issues, and for providing that report. I don't know of a known issue at this time, but I can still help you on this. Have you experienced this issue with multiple devices or just one in particular? Also, have you tried any troubleshootings steps on your end?

@XfinityMarcos yeah on both computers in my own house and as I mentioned, friends/family that have Comcast in other households also seem to have the same issues.

I tried troubleshooting steps from riot games like checking firewall permissions, changing/flushing dns, and of course restarting hardware.

It can be tricky if the only servers that are giving us issues are the CA Valorant servers. What are you seeing when doing a ping test to other public servers like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS), for example? Thanks!

I no longer work for Comcast.

Above is to that google DNS, not sure if it shows anything of note. To me, it would seem the problem would be the routing somewhere between Utah and CA - ping to other Val servers like TX, IL, OR, are all the same as they've always been, those haven't increased at all, only CA

Hello there @Trixington thank you so much for your post about having ping issues when connecting to Valorant. I did some digging and was not able to find any reported issues with high ping. We did have some issues a few months ago with Xfinity customers not being able to connect to the Valorant servers without using a VPN but that has been resolved. With your most recent results from a public DNS are also showing not where they should I would want to take a closer look.

If you could send our team a private message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

I'm having the same issues. Although mine has been happening over the last year. California is the closest server and in the past I was at 27 ping or so. Now it hovers over 50+. It's as if Comcast changed something. And what's really weird is sometimes it has once changed back to around 27 ping on patch days of valorant. I am pretty sure it's Xfinity side but it'd be nice if there was some further investigation since all my friends who also live in Utah that have Comcast/Xfinity are having the same issues.

@user_410c65

Please create a new topic of your own here on this board detailing your issue. Thanks. The original poster has not returned. 5-month-old dead thread is now being closed.

For future reference, it is better to submit your own post as it creates a ticket to get help, and posting on an old thread can delay getting help.
